My current role
As project manager primarily for NewDEPOMOD, a depositional model for use around fish farms, my main responsibility lies with liaising between end users and software developers to ensure the product is optimised. It also involves management of commercial projects relating to its use, in parallel to a range of research outputs within SAMS and the wider science community.
My research interests have evolved from saltmarsh and sediment ecology at undergraduate level, to bottlenose dolphin behaviour analysis during my masters, on to technology development and quantitative remote-sensing of ocean colour, and the optical properties of phytoplankton through my PhD. From this background I have developed a generalised interest in marine science, and primarily in environmental management of coastal oceans.
